About the role

We are looking for an Analyst - Finance Business Partner to support the Iron Ore Finance Business Partner team. You will be responsible for providing financial and commercial support to Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Functions and Operations Technical Support portfolio. We are looking for an enthusiastic problem solver who enjoys a challenge and is uncomfortable with the status quo.

Reporting to the Manager – Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

·       Partnering: Supporting the Finance Business Partners to help teams we support make better decisions, improve business performance, and increase the value of their business.

·       Analysis: Deliver timely and robust analysis to inform key decisions on business performance, including preparation of monthly reporting and outputs.

·       Business Performance: Supporting Finance Business Partnership Manager with preparing and delivering key outputs for Iron Ore lead team members.

·       Continued Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for improvement initiatives.

·       Planning & Forecasting: Support the Finance Business Partners to deliver analysis to underpin the annual plan and support strategic initiatives for the teams supported.

What you'll bring

As a successful candidate, you will bring:

·       An accounting or finance qualification with strong commercial skills and similar experience preferably in a mining environment

·       Excellent system skills (including data analysis, SAP and Power BI) plus a demonstrated ability and interest in challenging operational processes to find more effective ways of operating

·       Strong problem solving and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

·       Naturally curious with a hunger to learn and continuously grow

·       People focused and the capacity to build strong working relationships

Where you'll be working

This role is based in Perth, at our head office in Central Park, and working Monday to Friday.
