About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent of Rail Engineering GTS team, you will be responsible for providing solutions, expert guidance and technical support in the Railroad department specialising in Track and Civil.

You will also support, improve, and govern Rail standards across a broad range of areas in addition to ensuring all modifications are managed through the change and configuration management process and are commissioned without safety and unplanned business impacts.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Provides technical guidance and technical support to operational teams and functions
  • Provides technical and assessment expertise in support of Critical Risk
  • Validates existing engineering standards that are included as input into the basis of design for all projects
  • Sign off as SME on all related blueprint changes as the single point of accountability
  • Governs the as-built Operation’s blueprint and validates blueprint information at handover from all projects
  • Governs the management of change process for the Operation’s blueprint
  • Gives technical expertise on the Operation’s blueprint
  • Validates the asset integrity of critical equipment
  • Assesses and executes engineering requests
  • Sets and governs engineering standards and specifications for the Operation

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Engineering preferred but not essential or Track Design and Rail Maintenance background with significant industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated technical & professional skills within Track and Civil discipline
  • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels & establish a good rapport with a diverse range of people and stakeholders is essential; and
  • C Class driver’s license preferred but not essential

Location

Based in Perth Western Australia, on a flexible hybrid 5:2 roster, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.

We also have a FIFO position available working a 5:2 4:3 roster with flexible work arrangements considered. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms. Additionally you will have access to the state of the art aquatic and sporting facilities in the town of Port Hedland. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
