Location 

Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.  

Our greatest asset is and has always been our people and communities, which is why we are committed to working together on our Pathway to 2030 – a program to responsibly close Mt Arthur Coal. About the Roles

Here at Mt Arthur Coal, we are looking for Mining, Mechanical & Electrical Engineers to join our Technical Services team to help develop safe and efficient support to the operational teams, with opportunities open to candidates at all levels of experience.

Some of your responsibilities will include, however are not limited to;

  • Critical thinking ability with a strong desire to innovate
  • Be a visible and active safety leader
  • Identify, assess, manage, and communicate risks to the execution teams
  • Effectively communicate planning outputs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to deliver key objectives

About You  

As a qualified Engineer, you’ll be well versed within all aspects of your field along with the following qualities:

  • The ability to liaise, negotiate and influence a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, to be able to effectively convey decisions made within your team/area or a willingness to develop these
  • Effective collaboration, stakeholder engagement and communication skills are critical
  • You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and value the importance of building team culture through regular collaboration with team members and key stakeholders.
