We are looking for a Specialist Engineer - Civil / Geotechnical to support the design, management and operation of civil assets throughout their lifecyle in port and processing operations. 

This a great role linking together full lifecyle management of civil assets through technical design, development and implementation of operational and maintenance strategies, and investigation and resolution of defects, whilst managing risk and preserving the safety of personnel.

Reporting to the Principal Civil/Structural Engineering– Maintenance Planning & Engineering, you will:

  • Provide specialist technical support to all levels of the business relating to civil asset design, construction, operation and management.
  • Maintain and update relevant internal engineering standards and support application through the technical assurance process.
  • Develop or modify civil asset maintenance plans to support safe and effective operation of critical assets.
  • Inspect civil/geotechnical assets including reinforced earth structures, tunnels, retaining walls, reinforced rock slopes, foundations, culverts, bridges and engineered embankments to assess their condition and support remediation
  • Support prioritisation of capital and operating spend to remediate and maintain civil assets
  • Complete risk and integrity assessments for civil/geotechnical assets
  • Assist site personnel with investigation into issues associated with civil/geotechnical assets
  • Support design of civil/geotechnical assets through technical assurance and review
  • Reduce the business risk of failure of civil/geotechnical assets by promoting and supporting change management.
  • Coach and guide graduates and emerging talent as required

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of engineering (Civil) with extensive experience in the design, construction and management of civil assets;
  • A high level of competency with risk based approach to asset management;
  • Experience with the development and application of maintenance plans;
  • Understanding of civil asset management in a Pilbara mining and processing environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and effective stakeholder management

You can also expect the occasional meeting at our head office located at Central Park Building in Perth CBD, with site travel required from time-to-time.
