About the roleWe are seeking an engaging and safety-focused Advisor Electrical to join our Fixed Plant Shutdown team at West Angelas to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices across on a day-to-day basis to the Fixed Plant leadership team with a focus on statutory requirements. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills, coupled with your technical knowledge to effectively coordinate execution of work.
You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.Reporting to the Fixed Plant Superintendent, the role will require you to:• Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures• Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices• Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties• Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations including maintaining statutory electrical inspections and records as required by WHS• Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Fixed Plant Operations• Develop and implement systems to allow compliance with the Government Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Guidelines relevant to Pilbara Iron for Electricity and Water Processes• Develop, implement and support preventative and proactive maintenance• Report non-conformances with fixed plant electrical assets to line manager• Audits of fixed plant electrical assets to determine compliance with legislative requirements conducted by regulators achieve non-compliance free outcomeWhat you’ll bring• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team• Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor• Ability to achieve outcomes through influence and collaboration with others• Hold a current "C Class" WA Manual Driver’s License
