About Mt Arthur Coal
Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.Our greatest asset is and has always been our people and communities, which is why we are committed to working together on our Pathway to 2030 - a program to responsibly close Mt Arthur Coal. About the Role
The Health, Safety and Environment team at Mt Arthur Coal are a friendly and inclusive team who are looking for their newest team member with a commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
This is a residential position located close to Muswellbrook in the NSW Hunter Valley Region. This role comes with a family friendly rotating 5/4 roster (rotating days and nights). Flexible work options will be considered.
As a Paramedic you will report to the Security and Emergency Management Supervisor and responsibilities include:
- Maintaining operational medical emergency response readiness;
- Managing clinical presentations, medical emergencies and injury management;
- Liaising with the sites health advisor and other operational Leaders to ensure medical / clinical management requirements are coordinated.
- Assisting with site security access systems, and front of house duties including drug and alcohol testing.
- Medical surveillance and follow up
About You
Your enthusiasm, consideration and ability to connect to people will be key strengths and you will have the following skills and experience:
- The ability to deal with a range of people and provide support and advice, especially in emergency situations
- Bachelor of Paramedical Science or Diploma in Paramedical Science
- Registration with AHPRA
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Previous exposure to Health, Safety and Environmental protocols and emergency management with paramedical care.
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Certificate III Mines Emergency Response and Rescue (or equivalent)
- Previous exposure to drug and alcohol testing
- On road experience with a state-based ambulance service or defence force background
