About the role
Our dynamic team is at the forefront of modernising the Rio Tinto supply chain scheduling & optimisation landscape, transforming processes and delivering impactful solutions that drive Rio Tinto’s change and sustainable value. Reporting to the Principal, Future Scheduling Platform you will be responsible for:
Creating and maintaining the product roadmap, including epics and features, in collaboration with the Digital Product Lead and Solution Architect
Communicating the roadmap to delivery teams and prioritising the product backlog with the Scrum Master and Business Analyst
Providing decision support to product delivery teams to maximise the impact of their work, in partnership with Developers and Test Analysts
Making decisions on product functionality, including accepting or rejecting features
Managing the product backlog by consolidating user requirements, prioritising tasks, and ensuring visibility and clarity with input from Business Stakeholders and the Business Analyst
Deciding on deployment release dates, content, and communication, while coordinating with enabling teams like the Release Train Engineer and Cyber Security
Identifying and recommending additional features, improvements, and enhancements
Acting as a liaison between Business Stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts, and Technology Stakeholders, centralising their needs
Collaborating with other Product Owners to manage dependencies and future roadmaps
Working with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into product requirements with input from Business Stakeholders and Solution Architect
Iterating on product functionality in collaboration with users, Developers, and Test Analysts
Partnering with architects and leadership to ensure product quality alongside Solution Architect and enabling teams like Data Management
What you will bring
Experience in Product Management
Highly desirable to have expertise in resource Supply Chain Scheduling
Proficient in Scaled Agile (SAFe) and integrating it into Lean Portfolios
Adopts a supportive and transparent leadership style, fostering collaboration, problem-solving, and personnel development
Skilled in influencing stakeholders, including Executives, on Scaled Agile principles and their impact on operations
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with expertise in product lifecycle management
Deep understanding of technology, industry trends, customer needs, user experience principles, and business processes
Experienced in defining and prioritizing product features and working with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
Demonstrates a customer-centric mindset, engaging with stakeholders to align priorities and backlog items
Embraces Agile/SAFe values, actively participating in Agile ceremonies and fostering transparency and collaboration
Maintains an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, seeking improvements while respecting technical expertise
Exhibits strong decision-making, proactive leadership, and effective communication while fostering collaboration, resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to quality

This role is based at our Operations Centre near Perth Airport, working Monday to Friday.
