Our Opportunity
Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

The Senior Compliance Engineer supports Fortescue's Western Hub and is responsible for overseeing compliance requirements for tanks and registerable plant across multiple sites.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Engineering and Reliability, this role provides technical leadership for inspection programs, statutory compliance, defect management, third-party inspection governance and compliance assurance in accordance with regulatory, Australian and Fortescue standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead compliance management for tanks and registerable plant across Western Hub operations.
- Develop and maintain inspection, maintenance and assurance programs to meet statutory, Australian Standard and Fortescue requirements.
- Manage inspection records, certifications, defect registers and compliance documentation within SAP and related systems.
- Coordinate third-party inspection providers, including scope development, quality assurance and report close-out.
- Assess inspection findings, prioritise compliance risks and oversee remediation and defect elimination activities.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe and compliant asset operation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree-qualified Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineer, or equivalent asset integrity/compliance experience.
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience in compliance, inspection, maintenance or engineering within mining, processing or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, statutory inspection requirements and regulatory obligations for tanks and registerable plant.
- Demonstrated experience managing inspection programs, compliance registers, remediation scopes and defect close-out.
- Experience using SAP or similar asset and maintenance management systems.
- Proven ability to manage contractors, review technical reports and influence operational and engineering stakeholders.
