3D Model Coordinator
Work Location: Fortescue Centre. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday - Friday
Role overview:
You will be part of a small team (5) maintaining and developing the AIMES (Asset Information Management Enterprise Solution) system which utilises 3D models to link information from various datasources throughout the business.
The 3D model Coordinator will use Navisworks Manage, iConstruct and various design packages to intigrate project models to the masters, ensuring they are tagged correctly and meet our standards. Where the master models are not complete and no models are availables, placeholders will be created and inserted, work is currently underway on how to use laser scans for this.
The Navisworks models are then reduced in size and sent to a vendor to be converted into a gaming viewer for ease of consumption by our customers.
Obtaining project models and feedback on the completeness of the master models requires building relationships with subject matter experts including those on site and some site travel may be required. An understanding of engineering drawings is beneficial in obtaining equipment tags.
Your input will be sort into ongoing development of the the larger project including centralisation and utilisation of laser scan data, equipment tagging standardisation, mobility solutions and writing standards and specifications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and utilise systems for maintaining Fortescue’s 3D models
- Develop and maintain documentation around the 3D process including relevant standards and specification
- Perform Quality Assurance on incoming models and correct as required
- Maintain operational 3D master models by capturing operational changes and tagging metadata
- Provide vendors with up-to-date updated models as required
- Liaise with design teams, engineers, surveyors and project manager
Education and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of Bentley Suite of applications including but not limited to Microstation, Projectwise and Aecosim – Essential
- Extensive knowledge of Autocad especially Navisworks and the use of iConstruct
- Understanding of CAD standards
- Solid knowledge of Mining industry plants
- At least 5 years CAD experience
- Works with the Fortescue values embedded in their work practices
