Aboriginal Development Superintendent
Work Location: Chichester Hub. Fortescue’s Chichester hub is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
Key accountabilities will include:
- Strategic advisor to the Chichester Hub senior leadership team supporting a more diverse and inclusive workplace and embedding a culture of inclusion.
- Lead a team of committed people to drive sustainable projects which support our Aboriginal workforce to be the best they can be.
- Drive excellence in Aboriginal engagement and retention within our business by creating strong connections with the workforce and ensuring retention strategies are in place.
- Develop and maintain excellent external stakeholder relationships to build a culture that supports employment, engagement, and inclusion of Aboriginal candidates.
- Work closely to build both sustainable industry leading relationships with both the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
- Deliver a successful Vocational Training and Employment Centre (VTEC) graduate program for the Chichester Hub.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Significant experience working in similar role
- Experience working with, along with a knowledge of Aboriginal people, culture, and history.
- Experience leading initiatives to retain and develop Aboriginal talent, as well as creating an inclusive work environment where all diverse people feel safe.
- Experience in providing strategic advice to senior leadership on a range of diversity and development matters.
- Demonstrated leadership experience motivating teams to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to positively influence and interact with a range of stakeholders.
