The Opportunity - Payroll Administrator – Fixed Term (2 years)
We have an opportunity available to join the South32 HR Country Service Centre (CSC) in a new and exciting role. The CSC globally deliver over 15,000 pays to our employees each month. Our Perth based team take great pride in facilitating weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for South32 operations in NSW, NT, QLD and WA.
The CSC is developing a multi disciplinary team which will report directly to the CSC Lead Australia. This team will be provided intensive training opportunities and then mobilised to support where there is overflow processing, or resource requirements due to project or leave allocation through the broader team. It’s envisioned that while this team will remain full time fixed term, they will also be well positioned to step into permanent roles within the various teams as they become available (taking into account suitable skills and abilities).

Accountabilities
- Actively contribute towards achieving high performance payroll by focusing on maintaining up-to-date, accurate and timely data in our HR Systems
- Ensure alignment to internal controls, standards and procedures
- Ensure all queries and data management requirements are managed on time, accurately and within the defined service level definitions
- Develop supportive relationships with others in the HR Function and the Line Leaders
- Demonstrate and promote operational discipline when executing day-to-day activities
- Assist with system testing as required
- Contribute to maintain a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement
- Highlight improvement initiatives in existing processes, practices and systems
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of quick reference guidelines (QRGs)
- Provide assistance with internal and external audit requirements
About you
- Payroll or HR Administration professional with 5+ years experience
- Intermediate excel skills
- Experience in a mining or related industry
- Experience with SAP & Success Factors (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian employment law, payroll statutory and legislative requirements (essential)

Location
This role will be based at our corporate office in the heart of Perth CBD.
