Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Asset Management team is looking to recruit an Advisor, Autonomous Haulage Systems to identify improvement opportunities and assist with the implementation of effective maintenance practices within an autonomous operation. This will primarily be conducted via in-depth data analysis, internal stakeholder engagement and OEM involvement.

Reporting to the Specialist, KOM AHS Maintenance and Improvement, and working in a challenging and exciting environment will be:
- Conducting analysis of SQL data advising site maintenance, reliability engineering, and production teams of problematic issues requiring attention
- Providing coaching and support to key stakeholders regarding the development and implementation of maintenance practices and procedures to ensure autonomous system requirements are considered
- Developing and maintaining effective networks through collaborative relationships with equipment suppliers and operational support teams
- Identifying areas to optimise maintenance, operational and system practices to improve safety and equipment performance
- Compiling reports as required.
This permanent position will be based in Rio Tinto’s Operations Centre located near the Perth Airport working Monday to Friday with flexible working arrangements and will require ad hoc site travel.
What you’ll bring
To be considered suitable, applicants must have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A relevant Engineering Degree – i.e. Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics
- Proven experience writing and managing SQL code
- Exposure to the fundamentals of equipment maintenance
- Proven experience analysing data
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.
Ideally, applicants will also have:
- A strong code development background
- Experience with technology in the mining industry
- Experience with electrical or mechanical knowledge in mobile mining equipment
- Experienced in SAP
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically
- Strong interpersonal skills so you can build strong relationships with site-based personnel.
