About the role

We are currently seeking an Electrical Advisor to safeguard compliance with the new Work Health Safety Act 2020 for all Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) electrical assets associated with Greater Tom Price (GTP) Operations, ensuring that all statutory obligations are met with respect to High Voltage and Electrical installations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and safety conscientious individual to support all site electrical activities by ensuring they are completed in a safe manner and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems.

Reporting to the Superintendent Plant Operation Services, and working in a supportive and collaborative team, you will be:

  • Managing the transition from MSIR/MSIA to the WHS Act 2020 for GTP
  • Reviewing, recommending the adjustment of maintenance tactics in SAP
  • Liaising and coordinating with different department planners such as fixed plant, mobile equipment maintenance and site services to conduct inspections on their respective assets
  • Managing FTE and contract partners schedules completing NPI statutory inspections.
  • Liaising with Sustaining Capital and site project teams for new incoming NPI assets
  • Maintaining compliance on statutory work orders
  • Provide SME support for electrical infrastructure/equipment installed at GTP
  • Assisting to drive improvement initiatives associated with electrical infrastructure/equipment and maintenance throughout GTP.
  • Hold Site Statutory Electrical position.
  • Ensure NPI compliance to relevant state and Federal regulations (WA mines, WA Office of Energy)
  • Ensure Site's Buried services register is maintained with respect to HV and Electrical services.
  • Provide guidance and support to the site Electrical Teams including planned, break in and breakdowns
  • Assist with managing Capex expenditure associated with electrical infrastructure/equipment
  • Manage and develop team of FTE electrical maintainers

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to safety of yourself and your team
  • Hold an electrician’s licence issued under the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991 without restrictions or an electrical engineering qualification acceptable for corporate membership of Institute of Engineers Australia, or a WA Electrician’s Licence.
  • A comprehensive understanding of SAP planning and master data experience
  • Previous experience in leading personnel is advantageous
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience of electrical work in mining, or other heavy industry
  • Understanding of Australian Standards and regulations, with emphasis on AS3000
  • Strong computer literacy and experience in Microsoft’s suite of applications
  • Well established communication skills
  • Significant demonstrated knowledge in High Voltage Switching and Systems
  • Thorough understanding of Mining Act and Regs, Office of Energy, and Australian Standards

Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees. It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, two primary schools a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
