We are seeking an engaging and safety-focused Advisor Electrical to join our Mining team at Paraburdoo to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices across on a day-to-day basis to the Fixed Plant leadership team with a focus on statutory requirements.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills, coupled with your technical knowledge to effectively coordinate execution of work.
You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.Reporting to the Superintendent Production, the role will require you to:
Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations including maintaining statutory electrical inspections and records as required by WHS
Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Fixed Plant Operations
Develop and implement systems to allow compliance with the Government Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Guidelines relevant to Pilbara Iron for Electricity and Water Processes
Develop, implement and support preventative and proactive maintenance
Report non-conformances with fixed plant electrical assets to line manager
Audits of fixed plant electrical assets to determine compliance with legislative requirements conducted by regulators achieve non-compliance free outcome
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor
'A' Grade Electrical License or Electrical Engineering degree
HV Switching Operations qualification
Experience running small-medium sized electrical installation/modification projects
Willingness to be endorsed as a site Nominee for the RTIO In-House License
Willingness to be endorsed as “Appointed Electrical Supervisor” and undertake the assigned duties as per WHS
Willingness to work out of rostered hours (where required) to full fill Statutory Obligations
Ability to actively develop networks and engage with employees, management and external contractors to provide electrical support.
Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute required strategies to ensure safety, compliance and productivity
Computer literacy and proficiency in the suite of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word
A current Australian driver's license
