About the role
We are seeking expressions of interest for an Advisor Electrical Systems (Controls) to join the within Operation Support Electrical Systems Team within Ports Electrical Maintenance Department.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor Electrical Systems, you will/be:
- Provide Electrical & Controls technical and fault finding support to Operations and Maintenance teams in breakdown and maintenance scenarios.
- Foster a culture of professionalism and objective decision making within the team.
- Support other groups within the Electrical Maintenance team with relevant issues and decisions.
- Effective reporting to the Senior Advisor Electrical Systems of both emerging issues and successful outcomes.
- Actively pursue ongoing understanding of and alignment with current issues and practices with other Operational teams.
- Participate in technical reviews and investigations as required with other Operational and Project teams.
- Applying analytical ability to determine the root cause of problems or areas of improvement potential.
- Demonstrate problem solving capabilities by generating new ideas and solutions using business improvement processes and tools
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will preferably have:
- 3-5 Years Control Systems Experience
- Tertiary Qualification (Electrical, Controls or Mechatronics) or Electrical Workers Licence ‘A Grade’
- A WA Current C Class Driver’s License
- Experience in GE and Schneider PLC’s and basic understanding of WonderWare
- Experience in ABB/Siemens VVVF configuration
- Experience with ABB Robotics and Sampling systems
- Familiar with PrepMaster and associated network
- Sound knowledge of network and field device functionality
- Strong experience in a Fixed Plant Maintenance
- Intermediate SAP experience
- Display ability to work within a team

Where you’ll be working
This role is based at our Cape Lambert operation in the heart of Wickham, a remote town nestled in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This role is offered on a family friendly 8/7. 7&7 roster.
In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 17 mines, four independent port terminals, a 2,000-kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
