About the role

We are looking for an Advisor Environment to join our Health, Safety, Environment team at our Paraburdoo site to provide technical knowledge and day to day guidance to our mine operations as well as other key stakeholders including approvals, technical services and study teams. 

This role is a great opportunity to be the main environmental focal point for one of RTIO Pilbara mine sites where you will offer your support and guidance in the management of environmental site issues. Reporting to the Superintendent Environment, you will be responsible for : 

  • Preparing and submitting compliance reports required to comply with environmental permits
  • Managing project contractors and consultants providing environmental services
  • Managing site environmental issues , including but not limited to; land clearing, air quality, surface water quality, ground water management and , hydrocarbon management and contamination
  • Providing environmental advice in the interpretation of legislation, acts and regulations
  • Interfacing with on-site personnel to promote environmental goals and solve environmental issues including performing inspections to assess compliance risks 

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Current " C Class" WA Drivers License
  • Data evaluation and interpretation skills
  • Solid experience in a similar role
  • Experience or understanding of GIS software and Microsoft applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent writing skills, attention to detail and an ability to interpret and problem solve 
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset

Where you’ll be working

This role is being offered on a family friendly 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth or Residential in Paraburdoo.

Located 80km south west of Tom Price, Paraburdoo is a town nestled in some of the most scenic landscape in Western Australia. Paraburdoo is recognised for its beautiful scenery, wildlife diversity and close proximity to Karijini National Park. Paraburdoo prides itself on being a safe and friendly community; ideal for young families.

The picturesque town provides residents with a range of leisure facilities and local amenities including a domestic airport, hospital, community centre, child care centre, primary school, parks and a variety of sporting facilities. The recently built Paraburdoo Sports, Fitness and Community Complex offers state of the art facilities including an Olympic-size swimming pool, indoor basketball court and gym.
