The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 400 people and is located in Hermidale in Western New South Wales. Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and currently has an 8-year mine life meaning a stable and prosperous future.
Tritton is a key employer within the region and a proud supporter of the community. Accommodation support is provided as well as company transport from both towns to the operation. Nyngan is a family friendly community, with a variety of shops, gyms, and sporting activities as well as primary and high schools.
About the roleWorking as part of a team assisting in meeting environmental obligations required by the site in accordance with the Environmental Management Plan and other relevant legislation.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Conduct monitoring, data collection, data input and reporting as required.
- Provide statistical analysis of environmental data
- Assist with the planning, coordination and supervision of site revegetation and rehabilitation as required.
- Assist with the management of environmental research projects.
- Assist with ongoing improvements to the Environmental Management Plan, Environmental Management System and other Statutory Documents.
- Assist where required with any environmental incident investigation and follow up corrective actions with the respective department manager.
- Supervise on site activities of environmental consultants and contractors
- Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Tritton.
- Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Management or equivalent
- Laboratory or sampling industry recognised qualification highly regarded
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar environmental role
- Experience in working with Environmental Management Plans and/or other operational environmental documentation
- This position is offered on an 5:2 / 4:3 roster
- DIDO or Residential position
- DIDO - Friendly camp with quality food and mess facilities
- Residential - fortnightly allowance provided
