We are currently recruiting for an experienced Advisor – HSEQ to join the team at our Deflector Project. The Deflector Gold Copper mine is in the southern Murchison region of WA, 450km north of Perth and 160km east of the Western Australian regional city of Geraldton. The Deflector Gold Copper mine is made up of two underground mines: Deflector and Deflector South-West. They are both shallow narrow veined, high-grade gold and copper underground mines.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide a high degree of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) support and advice to the operational departments of the site.
- Assist with the overall implementation of WHS systems, strategies & initiatives.
- Demonstrate WHS leadership and improve the WHS culture through developing line capability in delivering their WHS accountabilities
- Provide support, coaching and mentoring to supervisors, employees, and contractors in all areas of WHS, behavioural and culture change, and leadership development
- Provide facilitation, assistance, and guidance in incident investigations, WHS meetings, WHS inspections of equipment and task observations on the site.
- Ensure compliance with WHS regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Lead, facilitate and participate in risk management processes, including maintenance and review of site Risk Register
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an WHS practitioner in the mining industry
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role within an Underground mining environment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Working knowledge of the WHS Act 2020 and WHS Regulations 2022
- Strong organisation and computer literacy
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and engagement skills
- Experience in WHS management systems such as INCONTROL
- Qualification in incident investigation such as ICAM
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence or equivalent
