Our HSEQT Advisor play a key role in our operations. You’ll work closely with the project leaders to uphold Macmahon’s safety, compliance, and client standards ensuring our sites operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

About the Role

With a commencement date of November 2026 and reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance, this site-based role is suited to an experienced surface mining professional who is passionate about safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will partner with leaders and work crews to foster a strong safety culture, drive compliance outcomes, and support the achievement of operational objectives.

Responsibilities 

• Drive implementation and compliance with the HSEQ Management Plan 
• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and teams on HSEQ systems and practices
• Liaise with clients on WHS performance, including lead and lag indicators 
• Support and participate in incident and accident investigations 
• Facilitate risk assessments to identify, control, and reduce operational risks 
• Maintain and improve corrective action and hazard reporting processes 
• Conduct site inspections and audits aligned with safety plans 
• Complete monthly safety reports and daily system updates 
• Support injury management and return-to-work processes 
• Promote wellbeing by monitoring mental health and connecting team members with support services What You’ll Bring
• Proven experience in a similar HSEQ role within surface mining 
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety 
• Experience implementing and maintaining HSEQ systems 
• Incident investigation training (e.g. ICAM) 
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills 
• High-level computer literacy 
• Senior First Aid & Mental Health First Aid certification 
• Senior & Mental Health First Aid Certificate 
• Commitment to safety, respect and doing things the right way
