About the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needsWe are looking for Advisor Mine Water Management to join our Mine Operations team at Marandoo. Providing technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement and planning practices across on a day-to-day basis to the Mine Water Management (MWM) leadership team with a focus on statutory requirements

You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on a fly in, fly out, 8 days on; 6 days off, roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Water Management and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will:

  • Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture by promoting safety awareness and compliance, and encouraging the prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating, and implementing opportunities for enhancement.
  • Take a forward-looking approach to identify requirements for MWM to progress the mine, equipment, and technology improvements.
  • Work closely with MP&E to uplift plant availability and manage off-site repairs.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders to ensure effective performance of duties.
  • Focus on setting the fortnightly look-ahead, providing input into the work schedule, and meeting the QPP.
  • Support preparation activities by ensuring the correct equipment is either onsite or ordered in advance.
  • Act as a key interface in the development and execution of the QPP with WRE and MTS, particularly in relation to the daily and 2-week plans.
  • Bridge the gap between MTS, WRE, and Operations, as current plans lack the granularity required for effective planning, scheduling, and execution of dewatering activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory obligations, and standards.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement in site-wide water efficiency.
  • Participate in the facilitation of PPS and 5 Whys sessions.

What you’ll bring

  • Hold a current "C Class" WA Manual Driver’s License
  • Experience in a similar role with some operational experience
  • MTS or experience in active mining environment
  • Mine water management or similar experience required
  • Ability to deliver Improvement projects
