An exciting opportunity exists within Glencore Queensland Metals for a suitably experienced Risk Advisor – Smelting and Processing. Reporting to the Superintendent Safety, Hygiene and Risk, you will provide expert risk and assurance assistance across our Glencore Queensland Metals smelting and processing operations. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa and has roster options that promote a healthy work-life balance.

Our business is integrated across the entire supply chain, from resource identification and development to production and distribution of copper cathodes to customers across the world. The Mount Isa Mines operations consist of an integrated Mine to Anode concentration and smelting process. About Mount Isa

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist advice to the operational teams for Processing, Smelting and HSEC on risk identification and control management.
- Reviewing and facilitating risk assessments, risk management plans and risk reports.
- Facilitation and review of departmental risk registers
- Reviewing, developing and implementation of critical control performance standards and verification activities.
- Participation in audits, tracking of audit actions and reporting of audit action progress.
You will have:
- Qualifications in workplace health and safety and/or risk management.
- Experience developing bowties/risk registers and critical control management processes (ICMM methodology highly regarded).
- Three years experience in workplace health and safety and/or risk management (mining industry experience highly regarded).
- Experience in ISO 31000 Risk Management application.
- Strong customer focus and communication skills, including the ability to work with operational stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds and practice areas.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitation, mentoring and stakeholder engagement.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to provide innovative and practical solutions to meet business challenges.
