The Macmahon WAC Head Office is located near Perth International Airport, T2. The Macmahon office is an award-winning facility with a large, recently upgraded on-site gym, free secure undercover parking and electric vehicle charging stations. The WAC Head Office hosts Macmahon's centralised support services and operates as the centre of gravity for the wider Australian business.


Macmahon is seeking an experienced RTO Advisor to join the WAC Training team in a permanent full-time capacity.  The role is responsible to ensure that all competency-based training and assessment activity adheres to the compliance requirements of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework, Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations and all other applicable legislation at all times.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute training and assessments in accordance with Macmahon Training Standards
  • Ensure all training and assessment documentation is completed accurately.
  • Management of RTO training records and data administration.
  • Assist Site Supervisory Teams to develop, monitor and maintain Site Crew Trainer and Operator proficiencies.
  • Provide advice and support to the Project Managers and Project Supervisors in relation to the development needs of their personnel.

About you

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a training role preferably within the mining industry.
  • Experience in the delivery of on-the-job training to small and large groups in both workplace and classroom settings. 
  • Competent in operating various equipment with haul truck, loader and ancillary equipment as a minimum.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with people at all levels
  • Strong organisation and planning skills
  • Strong and well developed communications skills and to converse at Supervisor level with ease
  • Self-directed learner
