Job Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Risk

  • Ensure all HSES policies and procedures are followed and a proactive approach to HSES is maintained
  • Actively advocate and motivate others to demand high standards of safety performance
  • Identify risks and hazards within work area and notify supervisor
  • Stop the job if an unsafe act or condition is observed and empower subordinates to do the same
  • Comply with Macmahon incident management procedures especially ensuring notification, reporting and investigation timeframes are achieved
  • Generate, review and maintain Macmahon Procedures and ensure compliance with relevant Legislation, Client standards and procedures
  • Carry out monthly environmental inspections
  • Conduct Internal Audits / Inspections for the Client and Macmahon
  • Conduct, manage and co-ordinate site Periodical Safety Inspections as listed in the HSEQ Activity Planner
  • Maintain, review and conduct Macmahon Site Specific Inductions
  • Participate in HSEQ programs and processes as required

Technical/Operational

  • Ensure responsibilities are outlined in the Safety Management Plan and understood and adhered to by all personnel
  • Liaise with client in relation to OSH activities and audit plans
  • Assist with accident / incident investigations as instructed by Project Manager
  • Assist generation, maintenance and review of site job Safety Environment Analysis Register
  • Maintain, review site Corrective Action Plan
  • Co-ordinate re assessment training schedule
  • Report on safety performance for the month
  • Continually improve HSEQ IMS
  • Establish, implement, monitor and review objectives and targets
  • Participate in HSEQ Meeting and HSEQ initiatives
  • Resource planning to be documented within the system
  • Responsible and accountable for using controlled documents and templates as well as keeping accurate and complete records of their activities
  • Sourcing and distribution of safety and health awareness information to site information boards
  • Generation of Monthly Safety Report for Project Manager
  • Maintain and update site safety targets and objectives
  • Manage Site Safety Management Systems including Standards and Macmahon Safety Procedures
  • Maintain, review site Risk Register

Commercial/Financial

  • Assist the Project Manager/SSE to develop and monitor budgeting and forecasting for the efficient and effective use of resources and cost reduction
  • Minimise costs to the business
  • Performs duties in a cost effective manner
  • Comply 100% to the supply chain process
  • Accountability for carrying out assigned responsibilities and achieving results
  • Demonstrate an awareness of costs and financial impacts of the work

Team Contribution

  • Participate in problem solving investigations with teams as required
  • Motivate team mates to demand high standards of performance in all areas to achieve agreed targets
  • Identify and suggest improvement opportunities leading to
    safer workplaces, increased productivity and increased
    efficiencies
