About the role
An opportunity has opened for a Utilities Technical Advisor - Hydrocarbons Water and Wastewater to join our Asset Management department.
This role will provide the opportunity to advise, lead, mentor and coach on resolution of Hydrocarbons Water and Wastewater Issues.
Provision of Technical Advice and support of Electrical / Instrumentation PLC and Citect Systems including trouble shooting and issue resolution
Coordinate and follow up on corrective actions for AS 1940, CRA, DOH, DMIRS, SMM, and Water Catchment audits.
Support DG licensing and 5-year audits, including inspections of fuel lines and gantry systems.
Ensure compliance for backflow prevention, meter proving, and tank inspections.
Manage annual condition monitoring programs for water and fuel infrastructure, including API653 for major fuel facilities.
Provide technical input across all project stages and facilitate consultants on-site.
CMS for water and fuel projects when required.
Advise on 5-year capital plans, asset health database, high-risk tasks, design reviews, and operational readiness.
Oversee water and wastewater quality, troubleshoot treatment plant performance, and optimize WWTPs, Bio Maxes, and sewage disposal units.
Conduct regular bore checks and manage chlorine gas facility reporting.
Address fuel quality issues, ship unloading, RTC loading, bulk lube facilities, and oily water separators.
Monitor thermal and pressure relief systems for compliance.
Complete annual compliance reporting and maintain water outage database.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Previous experience in Hydrocarbons / Water and Wastewater, leading teams and / or HSE leadership experience
Solid working knowledge of contractor management framework, systems, policies, standards and practices
A Current ‘C’ Class Driver's License (Manual)
Relevant trade qualifications (Electrical, PLC , Instrumentation) or higher
Citect experience advantageous
Lead, coach, and develop Contractor Management Representatives.
Provide technical and safety support to contract partners.
Support designated leaders on contractor mobilisation procedures

This role will be offered FIFO from Perth to various Rio Tinto sites based in the heart of the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. The roster will be offered as a family friendly 8 days on, 6 days off roster, supporting work life balance where it matters the most.
