AHS Mine Controller

Work Location: Perth Fortescue Centre. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: 4D/4N/8R

Role Overview

The Chichester hub mine control team to the success of Fortescue’s operation of Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) trucks, this role is accountable for the effective utilization of the Autonomous Haulage Fleet using Command Minestar to support the execution of the mine and maintenance plans.

These positions are fixed term 12 months.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Maximise equipment productivity and efficiency by the accurate and timely reporting of maintenance issues
  • Evaluate continuously the data accuracy and integrity in the system
  • Interact with the system to monitor and record operation of equipment statuses
  • Monitor and action information provided by tyre management systems, weather applications and monitor the maintenance status applications (REMS)
  • Ensure the integrity of the mine model (road network, locations, equipment etc.) report any mine model issues to the Minestar builder
  • Minimise shift delays and normal maintenance delays (fuelling, tire re-torques, etc.)

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience as an operator in an open cut mining environment
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills combined with a passion for technology
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work on multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in the knowledge and application of a Fleet Management System essential
