Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday - Friday

Fortescue is looking for a Product Owner to shape and deliver work management AI products across our Maintenance AI program. You’ll connect the needs of maintenance and asset management teams with the processes, data and technology that support effective work management across our mining operations.

This role focuses on the foundations of good maintenance execution: reliable master data, effective processes, and practical planning and scheduling. You’ll work with business and technology teams to identify improvement opportunities, set product direction and guide solutions from idea through delivery and ongoing improvement.

You’ll help Fortescue focus on the work and asset management problems that matter most, build a clear product direction, and deliver practical improvements to the data, processes and tools that support maintenance planning and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the roadmap for Fortescue’s maintenance AI work management products, aligning product priorities with maintenance and business objectives.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and workshops to understand how work is identified, prioritised, planned, scheduled and executed across the mining lifecycle.
  • Explore current and future product ideas, define problems and develop plans and strategies with stakeholders.
  • Own and prioritise product backlogs, translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with maintenance, planning, scheduling, shutdown, master data, SAP, operations, engineering, data and technology teams to deliver effective product outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve master data quality, work management processes and the usability of supporting tools.
  • Build a strong understanding of SAP maintenance workflows and how SAP supports work management, planning and scheduling.
  • Track product performance against agreed measures, identify opportunities to improve, and communicate progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain clear, useful product documentation, including roadmaps, requirements, process information, decisions and performance measures.
  • Support adoption by helping stakeholders understand product changes and how they improve day-to-day work.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in maintenance work and asset management, planning, shutdowns or scheduling in the mining industry, or a closely related heavy industrial environment.
  • A sound understanding of maintenance and materials master data and their role in effective work management.
  • Experience working with SAP maintenance processes and workflows; familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance or related maintenance functionality is highly regarded.
  • A technical background in engineering, software development or a related discipline.
  • Experience shaping products, managing backlogs and roadmaps, or leading the development of business or technology solutions.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to lead workshops and bring people with different perspectives together.
  • A personable, collaborative style and the ability to build trust with stakeholders across operational and technical teams.
  • A practical, improvement-focused approach to solving planning, scheduling and work management challenges.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for how AI and digital products can improve maintenance
