King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. Undergoing significant expansion, KOTH is nearing completion of a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant (previously 5.2Mtpa), providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Allrounder Operator role will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and productively operate a range of open pit mining equipment to support the achievement of daily and weekly mine plan objectives. The role requires versatility across multiple pieces of mobile plant while maintaining strict compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Operate a variety of open pit mobile plant equipment, including but not limited to:
- Excavators - HITACHI EX3600-7BH, EX2600-7BH & EX1200-7BH
- Dozer - CAT D10TT
- Loader - CAT 992
- Grader - CAT 16JOY-SZ
- Water cart - CAT 777
- Haul trucks (where required)
- Carry out prestart inspections and complete all required documentation.
- Perform tasks in accordance with mine plans, production schedules, and supervisor instructions.
- Support excavation, loading, bulk earthworks, clean ups, rehandle, and ancillary tasks.
- Maintain appropriate bench, road, dump, and working area standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, Mine Controller, and other operators.
About You
- Proven background in hard rock or in gold mining operations, with extensive experience operating a wide range of heavy mining equipment in large-scale open-pit environments, including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water carts, and haul (dump) trucks.
- Experience working with fleet management systems, such as Wenco or equivalent mining fleet management technologies, is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of WA Mining Act, Regulations, and WHS legislation.
- Hold a current WA Driver’s License (manual C Class).
