Alternate Senior Mine Surveyor

Rothsay Gold Mine is one of Australia’s newest underground gold mines located 400km north of Perth and only 45 minutes by plane. Rothsay has commenced underground mining and is now in full production. This is the perfect time to join a high performing team near the start of a project.

THE ROLE:

To drive the development of this exciting new asset, we are looking for an experienced Surveyor to take on a leadership role within this dedicated project team. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you will deliver all site survey requirements for both the underground and surface aspects of the operation.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Effectively use and maintain Leica Total Station, Optech CMS, DJI M200 UAV & Leica GPS equipment
• Maintain accurate survey control in underground workings and around surface infrastructure
• Record as-built surveys of all mined voids and infrastructure
• Provide directional control for all mining and drilling activities
• Carry out detailed surveys for end-of-month volumes and reporting
• Prepare timely and accurate weekly and monthly survey reports
• Produce quarterly emergency plans for statutory compliance
• Be proficient in the use of Deswik, Pix4D, Global Mapper and MS Excel
• Ensure compliance with SLR safety & environmental policies, DMIRS statutory regulations as well as SLR Surveying standards
• Provide direction and guidance to site Survey team
• Effectively communicate with the SLR technical team
• Liaise with contractor staff to ensure timely Surveying services are provided and mining compliance is achieved

ABOUT YOU:

You are a high calibre Surveyor who has an inquisitive mind, high attention to detail, and drive to continue to grow and develop professionally. You have excellent time management skills and can demonstrate experience of working autonomously. Your ability to build rapport with a wide range of people will see you excel in this role.

In addition to this you have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mine Surveying
• Minimum of 5 years of mine site survey experience
• Working knowledge of Deswik software is preferred
• Experience working with Leica Total Station equipment is preferred
• Demonstrate a strong attitude to safe work practices
• Drone operation experience and Remote Pilot Licence would be an advantage
• High degree of self-motivation with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks
• A professional attitude and the ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
• Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills

You would be required to work an 8/6 FIFO roster. Competitive market salary will be offered to the successful applicant.
