We have an opportunity within the Asset & Materials Management Systems team for an experienced AMM Data & Reporting Specialist to join our Perth-based team on a permanent full-time basis.

This role is suited to someone who can work with operational, maintenance, asset and materials data, understand what the business is trying to solve, check the data properly, and turn it into reporting that teams can trust and use in the way they work every day.

You will work closely with maintenance, reliability, planning, shutdowns, supply, inventory, engineering and operational teams to improve the quality, consistency and use of AMM data. The role will support priority reporting requirements across areas such as shutdown performance, asset management, materials and inventory, while helping reduce manual reporting effort and improve confidence in business reporting.

This role requires strong Power BI development experience, SQL capability, and a practical understanding of heavy industry operations, ideally within mining, maintenance, engineering or asset management environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and improve AMM reporting products, including datasets, dashboards, reports and visualisations.
• Deliver priority reporting requirements across shutdowns, asset management, maintenance, materials and inventory.
• Use Power BI, SQL, SAP data, Snowflake, SAP Analytics Cloud and other approved platforms to support practical business reporting outcomes.
• Identify the correct data sources, tables, fields, relationships and reporting logic needed to produce accurate reporting outputs.
• Validate source data, report logic and outputs to make sure reports are accurate, consistent and fit for purpose.
• Take ownership of selected existing Power BI reports, including review, uplift, documentation and ongoing management.
• Document report logic, data definitions, assumptions, limitations, source tables and ownership requirements.
• Support users to understand, trust and adopt reporting products in day-to-day business processes.
• Contribute to the AMM reporting roadmap by helping prioritise reporting work based on value, effort, readiness and sustainability.
• Align reporting outputs with Fortescue’s broader reporting, analytics and systems architecture.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets and analytics products.
• Strong SQL experience, ideally including SQL/T-SQL and/or Snowflake.
• Heavy industry operational experience, ideally in mining, maintenance, engineering, asset management, shutdowns, planning, supply or inventory environments.
• Practical understanding of how operational data is captured, maintained and used in business processes.
• Strong ability to validate data, challenge reporting logic, and identify where outputs do not align with the way work is actually executed.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with operational, technical and leadership stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline and problem-solving capability.

Highly regarded:

• SAP data knowledge, particularly across Plant Maintenance, Materials Management, asset management, work management, planning, supply or inventory processes.
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, Snowflake, SAP S/4HANA, Fiori or related reporting platforms.
• Experience improving data quality, data capture, reporting governance or reporting adoption.
• Experience supporting reporting products used by site-based maintenance, reliability, engineering or operational teams.
• Tertiary qualification in data analytics, information systems, business systems, engineering or a related discipline.
• Python experience.
