Title: Ammonia Storage & Distribution Engineer
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility we are presently looking for an Ammonia Storage & Distribution Engineer
Key accountabilities will include:
- Support providing process technology solutions, advice, and technical support on process design.
- Ensure effective application of Process Engineering meet the basis of design requirements of each project
- Process design, simulation, heat & mass balance, process flow diagrams and any required process studies to be undertaken.
- Oversee equipment sizing for process requirements, specifications, and data sheets.
- Green Technology process and project technical simulations for high level project evaluation
- Communicating and interfacing effectively with other disciplines, project managers, and equipment and engineering specialist providers.
- Assisting in building and interpreting detailed technical and economic models with the data analytics team
- Participation in specific detail design reviews and evaluations including technical safety reviews of design, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, risk analysis.
- Able to establish strong working relationships with other disciplines and stakeholders
Qualifications and skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent study
- 3 years’ experience working in either energy power generation, industrial chemical processing, oil and gas processing, mineral processing, water treatment etc.
- Experience with ammonia and ammonia storage and handling is preferred.
- Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills.
- Understanding of PFDs ,P&IDs and various processing equipment and packages (Pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, compressors
- Desirable to have experience in high level conceptual studies and feasibility studies through to FID.
- Desirable to have experience running process simulations, developing heat & mass balances, developing equipment sizing calculations, preparing process specifications for equipment and instruments, developing PFDs and P&IDs
- Desirable to have exposure to detailed design, construction and commissioning would be advantageous
- Proficiency or exposure to HYSYS and energy modelling software an advantage
- Desirable to have exposure to MS Visio, AutoCAD
- Desirable to have understanding of skid/modular hydrogen and ammonia related packages.
- Industry experience in or projects involving renewable energy would be highly advantageous
