Macmahon is embarking on an exciting new data strategy, covering a vast span of data extraction, transformation and visualisation tools. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join the team at the Perth Head Office, located near the Perth Airport. This role will be fundamental in the establishment and maintenance of the enterprise data store for the entire Macmahon group.

As part of the technology team, the role will report to Manager - Solution Architecture & Innovation. The role will support the selection, implementation and ongoing integrity of enterprise data through the execution of the Macmahon data strategy and contributes to the development and maintenance of business intelligence artefacts.

Role focus:

  • Review, interpretation, analysis and synthesis of organisational data and related processes
  • Use data analytics tools and techniques (e.g., advanced Power BI and SQL) to identify and transition data into clear visualisations
  • Document key data metrics, data flows and reports
  • Assist in the design, formation, and support of strategic data warehousing and data model collations
  • Organise and format data in line with system and user requirements
  • Understand key system functionality and assist in driving data compliance and integrity
  • Liaise directly with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business requirements and agree deliverables
  • Contribute to Macmahon’s Technology roadmap in data solutions and innovations

Ideal candidate:

  • Tertiary qualification in a Computer Science, Data Analytics or similar field
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience post qualification spanning Business Intelligence / Business Analysis / Reporting
  • Excellent ability in data gathering requirements and client liaison
  • Very strong SQL Server scripting skills and functional understanding (version 2013 or later)
  • Solid experience with BI Reporting tools, especially Power Bi and DAX
  • Demonstrate sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have a good understanding of functional design and data modelling best practises
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Must be a self-starter with good motivational and organisational abilities
  • Ability to appropriately prioritise and manage own capacity to deliver on internal customer requirements
  • Experience and knowledge in the Mining Industry, S4/HANA, Data Warehousing, and Fleet Management Systems, would be highly advantageous
