About The Role
As the Commercial Analyst on site, you will work closely with both the Commercial Manager and the Mine Accountant.
Your day-to-day focus will be based around maintaining commercial responsibilities and consistent operations of the commercial department, all whilst enhancing value through identification and progression of value add/cost saving initiatives.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Analyse daily, weekly and monthly cash cost reports to identify variances from budget and seek corrective actions from the departments responsible to recover overruns
- Maintain the action register from cost and capex review meetings and ensure the actions are followed up with the team responsible and resolved prior to the deadlines set
- Identify opportunities to make cash cost savings and drive their implementation with Department Managers and Superintendents
- Understand and administer supplier contractual obligations, reporting deadlines and KPI’s to ensure they are maintained, attend contractor review meetings and identify opportunities and implement to improve cost savings
- Work with site store to overhaul the current stock booking system to allow greater accuracy with costing to the correct departments, including reviewing daily stock costing reports to identify and correct wrong allocations with Superintendents
- Attend daily production meetings to identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs
- Create and maintain a tracking register of cost saving initiatives to measure the progress of targets through to completion.
- Coordinate commercial terms and payments for site major contracts
About You
To be successful we are looking for the following qualifications, attributes and experience from you:
- Prior experience in mining (beneficial)
- Can show prior knowledge and experience of cost saving initiatives
- Experience managing projects end to end
- Have previously presented to upper management on value adding opportunities
