Analyst - Commercial

Macmahon is excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Analyst to join the Tropicana Gold Mine Alliance. Tropicana Gold Mine is located 330kms from Kalgoorlie and boasts quick and simple travel to / from site (2hr flight to camp, 15 mins to the pit). Tropicana is considered a tier one gold mine offering the successful candidate exposure to best practice in surface and underground mining.  

This role would suit an experienced Commercial Analyst interested in having a variety of responsibilities that range from management accounting, budgeting/forecasting, financial/operation reporting, contract retendering and the freedom to look for initiatives that will provide insightful analytics to project stakeholders to direct positive change.  

This role offers incredible work/life balance with an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster.

Responsibilities

• Monthly cost accounting 
• Daily cost & revenue reporting
• Preparation of monthly claim
• Member of the annual   rates negotiation 
• Routine reporting adhering to schedules 
• Preparation and critical review of operating and capital budgets/forecasts
• Coordinate the quarterly business planning process
• Site and department cost and performance reporting 
• Provide analysis and insights to site commercial and operational stakeholders
• Identify and implement cost and operational improvements

Ideal qualifications and attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Commerce, Finance, Quantity Surveying, contract administration, engineering or equivalent 
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
• Good commercial acumen
• Strong investigative, analytical, software, and system skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Strong knowledge of key business drivers
• Experience delivering financial and commercial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to adhere to financial reporting deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting processes
