ABOUT THE ROLE

The Opportunity – 12 months, Fixed Term Position. This role will be based at our head office in Perth. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home)

The role of Analyst Corporate Finance is to support and execute Group Treasury’s strategic objectives, providing analysis and research into the Group’s financing, funding, liquidity, and capital management activities and supporting key bank and credit rating agency relationships.

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Finance and Insurance, key responsibilities are, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct analysis and modeling of the Group's funding and liquidity requirements, capital structure and capital management options available to the Group
  • Support the Group’s funding activities, including administration of South32’s existing financing facilities
  • Support the Group ancillary banking requirements, such as guarantee issuances and  portfolio risk management activities
  • Conduct front-office trading activities when required

ABOUT YOU 

  • Minimum two years of experience at a corporate and institutional bank or four years at a Big 4 accounting firm or analyst-level position within a treasury function
  • Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements (P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet statements)
  • With an attention to detail, an ability to quickly grasp new concepts, analyze issues and provide solutions to problems, including taking the initiative to improve models/processes/data collection techniques
  • Effective coordination and prioritization skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups and across time zones
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to establish effective working relations with stakeholders to achieve their active cooperation
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and to work to tight deadlines

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a commercial discipline (Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Economics)
