About The Role

The Resource Development Cost and Reporting team are responsible for the development of project cost estimates, monitoring and controlling activities, cost forecasting, and reporting in conformance with Rio Tinto procedures. The team ensures program/project controls requirements are embedded in commercial documents and oversees contractors’ performance to these requirements.
Reporting to the Superintendent Project Cost and Reporting, the Analyst Cost is responsible for the processing and management of invoices, including verification, reconciliations, and respective reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
Raise required Purchase Requisitions to support Resource Development activities
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies related to invoices, billable services, and Value of Work Done (VOWD).
Building and maintaining positive relationships with contractors, including prompt resolution of contractor queries
Prioritise invoice approvals in accordance with contract terms
Maintaining accurate records
Ensuring compliance with all policies, processes and controls at all times
A commitment to continuous improvement including documenting and revising processes and controls to improve efficiencies.
Assignment of correct cost codes for reporting and tenement expenditure
Proceed with invoicing receipting into SAP on a timely manner
Make sure appropriate approval for invoices has been granted prior to proceed
Monitor and escalate service entry sheet and invoices receipting progress to Specialist Cost
Support cost team in end of month processes
What you’ll bring:
To be successfully considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
Qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or Business-related discipline
Relevant work experience in a similar role with a proven capacity to investigate and analyse to find solutions;
Good understanding of operational environment and productivity drivers
Solid analytical, and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to effectively influence, collaborate and negotiate
Ability to work in a high-pace role, managing deliverables whilst maintaining autonomy and self-motivation;

Where you’ll be working
In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
This will be a Perth based role at our Central Park office in Perth CBD.
