Data and Systems Analyst (operational Support)

About the role

The Resource Development team provides support and sustains Pilbara Operations, through delivery of Ore Body Knowledge that ensures resources are developed in time, future value opportunities are identified and developed.

The Modelling and Data Systems team within Resource Development are seeking a person who can provide not only Operational Support and Project Support but who can also identify and manage business improvement opportunities around workflows and systems.

You’ll be part of a supportive team, encouraged by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. This is a FIFO role that has the following key responsibilities:

  • Operational Support
    • Document existing workflows, providing clarity around roles and responsibilities.
    • Establish and embed new workflows.
    • in-field application and Res Dev systems support
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues in the field.
  • training operators to be able to complete their work and provide quality data in relation to the applications used on site.
  • Project Support
  • Help deliver Data Systems projects.
    • Identify and scope improvements to existing systems.
    • Where time permits, project manage minor work.
  • Data and Systems Analyst
    • Support the self-serve reporting requirements of site by developing a good understanding of data flows and data models.
    • Work with the application teams to ensure the data systems meet the business requirements and that the applications are fit for purpose.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with multiple stakeholders to understand their requirements.
    • Provide systems guidance.
    • Foster a collaborative environment focused on data excellence.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong GIS skills, with experience supporting field-based Earthworks and Drilling programs.
  • Experience with FME scripting is desired.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to challenge established norms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Root Cause Analysis experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with database and BI software would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with machine guidance systems is advantageous but not essential.

Where you will be working

This is a Pilbara based FIFO role with occasional time in the Perth office, as required for role requirements. It will be on an 8/6 roster (day shift only).This role is open to both full time and part time applicants.
