We are looking for an experienced Procurement Analyst (Contracts Administrator) to work closely with the Business Partner Ports & DSL on assigned sourcing scopes and support projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable contracts and deliver optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.
A favourable attribute will be the ability to create detailed spend analysis and compare with external global market/cost analysis. . This role requires someone who has a meticulous eye for detail to extract/collate data from various sources, consolidate the datasets and then analyse/interpret the data to present meaningful information and insight (i.e. trends, patterns or gaps) for the procurement team and business to review.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who has strong analytical skills, sound data management capabilities, excellent multitasking ability and demonstrated experience in establishing collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will also enjoy working in a fast paced environment as part of a focused team.
Working for Rio Tinto Global Procurement, and as a key member of the Ports & DSL Team, you will:
Have the ability to process a large volume of data in an efficient and effective manner
Be experienced with creating and publishing a variety of reports/dashboards and the ability to suggest ways to improve data capture, interpretation and presentation format
Proactively seek and analyse information and intelligence from the market to support strategy development and ongoing execution
Extract, analyse and interpret spend data (from SAP and other system sources) and proactively communicate what the data conveys
Undertake the day to day contract management activities in support of Rio Tinto’s key supply partnerships
Capture, consolidate and report on the external market dynamics for multiple categories. For example; capturing market intelligence, supplier financial health analysis, global supply footprint, cost drivers, commodity analysis/tracking, F/X, contract analysis, price points, spend base, competitor intelligence data, industry trends etc
Assist with the tracking of forecasted cost savings versus business unit actuals
Support the team with tender analysis and potentially the building of Excel based cost models
Ensure that the team follows the required governance and compliance relating to key Procurement documentation storage and file structure – satisfying audit requirements.
Undertake regular reporting on cost savings, spend forecasts, supplier spend, business unit spend, bespoke analysis and other performance indicators as requested
Provide support with the managing supplier activities and assist with identifying new value opportunities for the business
Maintain a positive, constructive and collaborative working relationship with the team, business and vendors
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
A positive can-do approach towards your work
Demonstrated experience in data analytics
Experience or understanding of procurement fundamentals and the sourcing process
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound commercial acumen, problem solving, analytical skills and data capture skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline highly regarded
