The Opportunity – Permanent, Full Time Position
Following an internal promotion, an opportunity presents itself for an Analyst Reporting to join a high performing reporting team of an ASX top 20 company and one of the world’s biggest miners. This role is to play an integral part in the preparation of the Group’s external and market facing financial reports, and to support the development and maintenance of the Group’s accounting policies, interpretations and reporting practices.
Reporting to the Group Manager – Finance Reporting & Governance, your key accountabilities are:
- Support the preparation of the Group’s half-year and year-end external financial reports, including financial statement and note preparation and the related coordination of our reporting groups from around the world
- Assist and guide financial accounting teams in Africa, Australia, Colombia, Chile, Brazil and the USA with accounting and reporting issues and provide training and coaching where required
- Support with technical accounting analysis and the writing of position papers
- Liaise with our external auditor on resolving half-year, year-end and accounting policy related matters
- Ensure that a fit for purpose internal control environment operates effectively and in compliance with Group requirements. Complete verification processes over internal controls as required
- Assist with implementing financial accounting and reporting process improvements
- Coordinator of the Group’s lease reporting in accordance with IFRS 16, supporting our financial reporting teams and maintaining the Group’s leasing software
About you
Here are some of the core skills we’d like you to have:
- Experience in external audit (ideally Big 4) or experience in a similar financial reporting role
- High computer literacy in Microsoft Office
- Excel in a high pace environment with an eye for detail
- Ability to influence, communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Post grad qualification (CPA/CA)

This role will be based at our office in the heart of the Perth CBD. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home)
