About the Role
Reporting into the Chief Chemist, in the capacity of Laboratory Analyst, you will work as a key member of a Kalgoorlie based Lab team responsible for analyzing materials going to export.
This role is responsible for obtaining and analysing samples from our plant, together with:
- Supporting the operations by supplying accurate, quality assured and timely analysis of these commercial/export products
- Detecting potential or actual non-conformances, assessing their significance and recommending preventative or corrective actions
- Applying specialised technical knowledge to critically analyse and resolve complex problems
- Report using verbal responses, data entry into laboratory information management system (LIMS) and brief written reports
- Identifying hazards associated with samples, preparation methods, reagents and equipment and implement enterprise control measures
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a self-motivated and highly organized individual with high attention to detail. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups and as a key member of a high performing team.
In addition, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques OR demonstrated Lab experience
- Experience in Sample Preparation, Acid Digestion and experience in using LIMS
- Previous experience in using classical techniques and XRF spectrometry are preferred
- Previous exposure to laboratory or process control environments will be highly regarded
- The skills to solve predictable problems using clear information or known solutions
- Have a flexible approach to work and availability
- This role will require an individual who is self-managed and self-driven as well being able to work in with team members across the plant
