The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Legal and External Affairs, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, and Technical. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Opportunity – 12 months, Fixed Term Position: This role will preferably be based at our head office in Perth. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home)
The role of Tax Analyst is to complete direct and indirect tax compliance and tax accounting processes for Australian entities. This role will also be responsible for managing the Australian online administrative aspects of the group including ATO Online Services, MyGov ID, and Director ID
Reporting to the Senior Manager Tax - Australia, key responsibilities are, but are not limited to:
Tax compliance
- Preparation and lodgement of income tax and indirect tax (GST, FBT, payroll tax, excise) returns for Australian entities
- Preparation of the payment requests and associated accounting entries required for income tax and indirect tax liabilities and refund claims for Australian entities
- Preparation of monthly income tax accounting positions for Australian entities (management and statutory)
- Preparation of forecasted indirect tax positions for Australian entities (management and statutory)
Tax controversy
- Assistance with adhering to indirect tax revenue authority compliance activity including reviews, audits, and litigations
- Identification of tax risks
Tax advisory
- Assistance in the preparation of tax advice on Australian income tax and indirect tax matters
Tax online administration
- Monitor and maintain the group’s Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Online Services accounts, including MyGov ID and Director ID management
- Provide assistance and support in completing the group’s Payment Times Reporting submissions
- Monitor and maintain the group’s details on the Australian Business Register
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives which mitigate process risk and increase transparency of tax calculations and outcomes
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience in a in a mid-sized or large corporate team or a professional services environment
- Demonstrated strong commercial, tax technical and financial accounting experience
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Law
- CA/CPA or equivalent accounting qualification
