About the Role
Building and maintaining comprehensive programs for Apprenticeships and Traineeships are key to our business as we continue to skill the workforce of the future. We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our team to support the Saraji Maintenance Department with administration, planning, reporting and adherence to training and governance processes.
Reporting to the Superintendent Infrastructure Maintenance the Apprentice Coordinator will provide support to ensure that the apprenticeship program and all associated processes, procedures and systems adhere to legislated requirements and internal controls.
The work of this role will encompass:
- Working closely with the Manager, Superintendent and key site stakeholders to understand the requirements for all Apprenticeships and ensuring apprentices are supported throughout their program
- Develop, lead and provide governance of the Apprenticeship Program
- Work with key site personnel to monitor apprentice performance against their apprenticeship plans and ensure that all records are managed, and the Learning Management systems are kept up to date with progress and records of completion
- Continuous monitoring of apprenticeships training services performance and initiating the necessary input or support to ensure these services are achieving their objectives.
- Ensuring that all statutory compliance is maintained including training systems, programs, content and records management
- Engaging with external Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to ensure records of completion are aligned to nationally recognized units of competency
- Plan, schedule and execute external education requirements with RTO.
- Management of claims for government incentives for employment and enrolment of apprentices
- Active participation, compliance and contribution to the effective operation of BHP’s relevant HSE policies and systems.
Work Location
This role will be based at Saraji Mine site in Dysart Queensland. In this permanent full-time role, you will be working Monday – Friday and offers flexible work arrangements. To find out more about working with us please click here
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience and background in working with apprenticeship programs or operational mining environments t within mining or heavy industry
- A continuous improvement focus that identifies opportunities for improving processes, creating efficiencies and designing capability improvement
- Comprehensive understanding of VET legislative and internal compliance requirements
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong partnerships across a range of stakeholders both external and internal
- Willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence, coach and model BHP values and behaviours
- Diversity of thought and practical experience will be embraced
- Strong attention to detail, ability to understand complexity and a track record of providing quality information to senior management
- High level verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products.
