Job description:

Barminco are seeking applications for an Apprentice Electrician to join our experienced and highly skilled maintenance team across our remote West Australian operations.

  • Working with and assisting tradespersons as an electrician
  • On the job learning will develop:
    • Electrical knowledge
    • Fault finding and methodical thinking
  • The apprentice will be exposed to various areas of the electrical trade:
    • Underground work which will include regular heavy lifting
    • Industrial work installing electrical systems in surface infrastructure
    • Control systems in both mobile fleet and fixed plant
    • Battery/Hybrid electric vehicles
    • Remote operation systems
    • Communication systems
    • Potential 6-month exchange program with Perth based contractor
  • Your training will be a combination of site and TAFE attendance to complete the relevant modules and competence requirements and MUST include successful completion of a CAPSTONE assessment at the end of the apprenticeship.

Key Requirements:

  • Completion of year 12 or Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship
  • Relevant work experience (desirable)
  • First Aid certificate or willing to obtain
  • National police clearance
  • Ability to pass preemployment medical include Colour confusion test
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • 4-year commitment
