About the Role

This role will be supporting, engaging and mentoring apprentices and stakeholders, to enable apprentice capability and successful completion. This is done through program management and monitored journey progress and development by:

  • Cultivating positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe execution of production activities.
  • Monitoring and managing pastoral care visits with apprentices in field to ensure high level of performance.
  • Establishing yearly apprentice projects to better skills and outcomes of the program cohort. 
  • Work in coordination with the Apprentice Trainers on infield Verification of Competencies of apprentices and pastoral care visits.  
  • Support training staff in the delivery of onboarding program for first year apprentices. 
  • Report and manage apprentice performance metrics to drive success. 
  • Work within the wider community to promote Apprenticeships at BHP in the marketplace. 
  • Ensure compliance and reporting associated with the Integrated Management Systems. 
  • Work with industry partners to remain abreast of changes to emerging skills. 

About You

  • Trade Certification in a relevant trade (desirable)
  • Mental Health First Aid Certified (desirable)
  • Minimum 2 year's experience in a similar role (preferred)
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the SA apprenticeship systems
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills along with ability to identify and recommend improvements.
