ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Four Year Fixed Term Contract initially on a  4 day roster, DIDO to our Collie Refinery & Boddington mine sites.

Purpose

An apprenticeship is a great way to kick start your career. With combined formal learning and on-the-job training, your journey will be supported by a great crew and professional training team. You will continue to grow and develop your skills and experience that will lead you into a skilled tradesperson.

Apprenticeships

All apprenticeship roles are four-year programs which combine structured nationally recognised training with on-the-job experience. 2024 apprenticeships at South 32 are offering the following Trades:

Worsley Alumina Refinery - Collie

• Apprentice Fabrication
• Apprentice Electrician
• Apprentice Mechanical Fitter

Boddington Bauxite Mine

• Apprentice Heavy Diesel

Accountabilities

• Demonstrate commitment and conformance to safe work practices and procedures.
• Represent South 32 and yourself in a professional manner both internally and externally, including involvement with TAFE and secondments.
• Follow all lawful instructions.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• Demonstrated desire and/or experience in the chosen trade (s)
• Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency.
• Current ‘C’ class driver’s license or working towards one
• Satisfactory completion of Year 10 English and Mathematics

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Holds relevant school reports and/or pre-apprenticeship in relevant disciplines.
• Ensure any documentation required to gain your trade qualification is completed accurately, on time and in the appropriate manner or required system.
• Progress in your Apprenticeship – This includes progressing with on the job learning and your TAFE off the job learning.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory TAFE training.

• A resume which outlines education, work experience, certificates and community/sporting involvement.
