Approvals Specialist

Work Location: Fortescue Centre & Bennett St 

Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Approvals Specialist to join the Fortescue Family, who is willing to work in an innovative and fast paced environment on a full time permanent basis.

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Identify project approvals requirements through consultation with Project team and Approvals personnel
  • Prepare approvals advice
  • Prepare and monitor approvals submissions to government
  • Maintain approvals documentation and correspondence
  • Monitor and report approvals status and risks
  • Assist in the critique and development of approvals strategies that meet business objectives
  • Maintain and foster a working environment which promotes safety in all that we do

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 3-5 years experience preparing and obtaining project approvals
  • Co-ordination and project management of government approvals in Western Australia, in any of the following areas:
    • Environment
    • State Agreements
    • Mining
    • Port Authority
    • Local Government
  • Ability to liaise and influence at all levels of staff and management
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude, with demonstrated ability to show initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use Geospatial Information Systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
