Approvals Specialist

Work Location: Perth

Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Role overview:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Approvals Specialist to join the Fortescue Family, to help deliver future green iron-ore mining projects within the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify project approvals requirements through consultation with Iron Ore Study Teams and Functional Approvals personnel
  • Prepare approvals pathway advice
  • Maintain approvals documentation and decisions
  • Monitor and report approvals status and risks
  • Facilitate the development of approvals strategies that meet business objectives
  • Maintain and foster a working environment which promotes safety in all that we do

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years experience preparing and obtaining project approvals in areas such as Environment, Tenure, State Agreement, Mining, Port Authority, Local Government or Water
  • Strong co-ordination and project management capability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to liaise and influence at all levels of staff and management
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude, with demonstrated ability to show initiative
  • Ability to use Geospatial Information Systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
