About the Role
We are currently seeking Approvals professionals to join our growing Land Access and Approvals team to support the WAIO approvals team.
These roles require you to assist in the management of the approvals portfolio and provide coordination of external approvals requirements for both brownfields and greenfield mining and infrastructure projects.
Key accountabilities for the role include:
- Project management and co-ordination of the various approvals requirements to support asset/major projects and operations;
- Collaboratively working with approvals SME’s from cross functional teams (heritage, environment, water, closure) to identify Approvals pathways (including optionality there within), and develop approvals strategies, in line with business priorities and timeframes.
- Development of Approvals Strategies and schedules to allow for analysis of preferred option
- Approvals coordination across different functional areas such as Heritage, Tenure, Environment & Closure.
- Liaising closely with relevant stakeholders, to ensure external approval requirements are well understood and conveyed to the broader business.
- Participating in project reviews, and providing advice to the business with regard to the impact of approvals issues and the impact these risks may have on the timing of project delivery.
- Drive business improvement initiatives to support delivery of strategic regulatory approvals.

In addition, we are looking for the following specific skills and experience:
- Strong Project Management experience and organisational skills
- Understanding of statutory approvals relevant to mining and infrastructure projects (incl environmental, heritage, state agreement) and the interdependencies between them.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse Approval Strategies and identify optionality in Approval Pathways.
- Desirable - Experience in producing Approvals-specific schedules to allow for the review of risk as it relates to Approval Pathways.
