Asset Health Specialist - HME
Work Location: Fortescue Centre, Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Role overview:
The key purpose of the Asset Health Specialist (AHS) is to improve the reliability of FMG’s Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet through initiatives including enhancement of corrective maintenance; identifying and resolving faults before they become failures. Development & implementation of new condition-based maintenance strategies, optimisation of current condition monitoring techniques. Development & advancement of FMG’s Predictive Maintenance Platform (PMP) and relentless optimisation of maintenance costs & processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement cross site projects to improve FMG's HME Asset Health Capability
- Lead the development and optimisation of condition-based maintenance strategies for HME fleet
- Develop and implement FMG’s Predictive Maintenance Platform (PMP),
- Liaise and coordinate with the operations team to ensure HME Fleet are operated within their designed specifications
- Engage & support maintenance execution teams through regular site visits and interactions
- Investigate and implement new technologies that will support and improve FMG HME asset health monitoring
- Continually search for ways to streamline and simplify HME Asset Health maintenance processes
- Conduct detailed technical analysis of component failures and identify failure trends and signatures that will serve as future condition monitoring streams
- Monitor Asset Health data to ensure data accuracy and quality remains at a high standard
- Coach new team members & graduates, coordinates work among stakeholders and freely shares their substantial technical knowledge with the wider engineering team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary Engineering Qualifications in Mechanical or similar disciplines is essential
- Condition Monitoring Certification (desirable)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Reliability (desirable)
- 3-5 years mining experience in a mobile maintenance environment
- Previous Reliability Engineering experience
- Condition monitoring (desirable)
- Experience/skills in IT systems & software development fundamentals coding will be a plus.
