Asset Health Specialist – Condition Monitoring

Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday 

The Asset Health Specialist - Condition Monitoring role reports to the Asset Health Lead and is responsible for taking the condition monitoring discipline forward through the simplification of systems, trialing new innovations/techniques and providing guidance to the business on cost effective defect detection solutions. This role will also provide peer support and mentoring of site Condition monitoring technicians, reviewing/updating and creation of relevant business standards as well as optimizing and supporting the acceptance testing process for rotables and projects. This will also include contributing to reliability improvement projects and root cause analyses investigations whilst liaising with internal teams to ensure FMG works towards and maintains full visibility of the health of its assets.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Maintaining, updating & auditing fixed plant condition monitoring standards, guidelines and systems.
  • Researching & trailing new technology and techniques and assisting sites with implementation of business best fit.
  • Review acceptance testing and assist with referrals, queries and issues that arise.
  • Assist in reviewing condition monitoring data as requested to provide SME support to sites.
  • Liaise with internal teams where required in relation to condition monitoring data and systems.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and assistance to site condition monitoring teams as required.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Mechanical / Electrical Trade OR Engineering degree 
  • 5 years' experience in condition monitoring across a range of technologies and techniques with site experience (UT, Thermo, Acoustics, Vibration, Oil analysis).  
  • VCAT III Certification (VCAT II will also be considered)
  • MLA I Certification 
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communications skills.
  • Experience with Data visualization software desirable.
