About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting the maintenance and performance of a large mobile equipment fleet.
Working closely with our client's Asset Management team, you will act as the primary technical liaison, ensuring they receive accurate, timely and meaningful information regarding fleet performance, reliability, planning & maintenance activities and asset health.
This role combines strong engineering capability with analytical expertise and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical problem-solving and building trusted client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the client's Asset Management team.
- Provide regular reporting and insights on fleet performance, maintenance activities, reliability trends and asset condition.
- Partner with the planning team to deliver accurate and actionable maintenance forecasts, including rolling 3-month schedules, maintenance durations, start dates and cost projections, enabling effective operational and shutdown planning.
- Analyse fleet data to identify performance improvements, maintenance optimisation opportunities and reliability risks.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and recommendations for client stakeholders.
- Monitor key asset performance indicators and ensure data integrity across maintenance systems.
- Support maintenance planning and execution by providing engineering analysis and recommendations.
- Collaborate with operational, maintenance and engineering teams to deliver agreed service outcomes.
- Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all information provided to the client is accurate, professional and aligned with contractual requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess a combination of engineering expertise, analytical capability and exceptional communication skills.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in asset management, reliability engineering, fleet management or maintenance engineering environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex operational and maintenance data.
- Experience preparing reports, dashboards and technical presentations for stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear business-focused recommendations.
